Why I Switched to Google Chrome BETA

Two days back Bastab and Aritra was talking about Google Chrome Extensions in Twitter, and I thought somehow I was missing the fun by using Google Chrome stable version, as extensions can't be installed in this version. So I downloaded Google Chrome Beta from here and installed it.The site says something like this-

Try the latest version of Google Chrome (BETA)

  • Preview the latest features
Try out the newest tools while they're a little rough around the edges.
  • Give early feedback
Let us know what you think and help make Google Chrome a better browser.
  • Continue to get BETA updates
When you switch to the BETA version of Google Chrome you will always get the latest speed and feature updates. Please note that you can only have one version of Google Chrome at a time.

As usual promises are kept. Really satisfied using the BETA version, mostly due to the following reasons:

1. Improved Speed: I can't tell you exactly how much faster, but it's apparent that it is faster than the stabler version.

2. Synchronize Your Browser Bookmarks with Google Chrome Bookmarks:

This is the most desired feature for me! When I switched from IE to Google Chrome one thing I missed is Google Bookmarking from Google Toolbar. But the BETA version has the option to synchronize your google Chrome Bookmarks with Google Bookmarks.

3. Extensions: Bringing the power of extensions to Google Chrome, the BETA version allows you to install extensions from here.

There are thousands of Extensions, find what you require. Though a few extensions aren't working at all, some extensions are really good and worth trying.
