GiveWarmth - A Mission to Save Lives in Winter

So you are having very much trouble waking up in the chilly morning? Leaving the warm bed and blankets? I can understand! But yesterday Khushi told me something, and after that I am having trouble going to sleep!
What about all the poor people, who don't have cloth to wear forget about blankets! They don't even have a roof over their head! How can they survive this winter???
Believe me I was shocked to be reminded of this well known reality. First I was very sad, but then thought being sad won't help those people. Why not do something for them? I couldn't have dared to think this if I was not learning the power of Social Media for the past few months.

Lets come to what we can do for this people and save some lives this winter (thought 'GiveWarmth' as the name of this initiative, feel free to suggest a better name, actually name doesn't matter, your initiative matters)-

1. Unused Cloth Collection
We can collect unused cloths/bedsheets/blankets from our neighbourhood, and distribute it to local poor people. I know what you are thinking. Every neighbour of yours is not so kind! Neither mine, but it's worth asking.

2. Fund Collection in College/school and Office
We can collect funds from our college/school friends or office colleagues. And also can inspire them to start this initiative in their neighbourhood. This is not easy either, but request them to sacrifice atleast one smoke/drink or something like that, it's a matter of life and death.

3. Contacting relevant NGOs
If you know any NGO working on this mission, please let us know here. We can do this thing in more organising way with their help.

4. Spreading Word through Social Networks
Spread the word about this initiative through all your social networks, blogs and websites. Ask people for ideas or help. You can also connect to people in your local area who are ready to take part in this initiative. Use #GiveWarmth (Hashtag) in sites like Twitter to spread the word to masses and track conversation regarding this initiative.

5. Designing banners and Twibbon
All you Design guys! My earnest request for you to design some banners or posters on this issue and promote it both online and offline.

6. Collection at Multiplex
Now you may think I am completely mad writing this idea, may be I am. But just think about it, those who can watch 3 Idiot Movie with Rs550 can't donate Rs 50 to save a person's life? If we can convince Multiplex authorities to leave a dropbox with a poster/banner on this issue, I don't think all the visitors are non-human!

I will be adding new ideas gradually, I will request you to do the same. This initiative will never be successful without all of your participation. Remember one small kind initiative from your side can give a person a little more life. Let's make a difference today.
